Police have renewed an appeal for witnesses to a pedestrian fatality at Edensor Park in April.
Shortly after 6pm on Sunday, April 19, a 69-year-old man was crossing Edensor Road when he was struck by a vehicle travelling east.
A second vehicle travelling in the opposite direction also hit the man, dragging him approximately 600m onto Cowpasture Road.
The man was taken to Liverpool Hospital where he died a short time later.
A crime scene was established by officers attached to Fairfield Local Area Command and the Metropolitan Crash Investigation Unit.
At the time, a number of witnesses were interviewed and a 63-year-old Casula man was charged in relation to the incident.
Investigations into the circumstances surrounding the incident are continuing, and crash investigators would like to speak to any witnesses who have not yet been interviewed.
In particular, police would like the occupants of the first vehicle to come forward and identify themselves to investigators.
The vehicle has only been described as a small white sedan with a damaged driver’s side mirror, and the occupants have been described to police as being an elderly couple and a young girl.
The car occupants, or any other witnesses who have not yet spoken to police, may be of great assistance in determining the circumstances surrounding the incident.
Anyone who can assist with the investigation is asked to urgently contact the Metropolitan Crash Investigation Unit on 9689 7370, or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
